Our Policy

Humanomics is committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the confidentiality, currency and accuracy of your personal information. It is fundamental to the way we develop trusting relationships and deliver services to you, our customers and our clients.

Why do we need to collect, store and disclose personal information?

In order to deliver the best possible services that are safe and without risk to your health and the health of others, Humanomics collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information to:

  • Accurately assess your needs,
  • Select and provide services that best meet your needs,
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of those services, and
  • Continuously improve the services delivered to you.

What type of information do we need to collect?

Humanomics needs to collect and store personal information that is necessary and directly relevant to the services we provide.
In doing so, we will inform you about:

  • The purpose of collecting any personal information,
  • Any legal requirements for collecting personal information from you and any third person, organisation or agency, and
  • Any third person, organisation or agency to which you are required to disclose personal information.

What information is necessary and relevant?

Personal information that is necessary and directly relevant to the services we provide includes, but is not limited to, information about:

  • Your past and current health, and
  • Your past and current employment.

When collecting your personal information, we will ensure that we do not unreasonably intrude into your personal affairs.

How do we store your personal information?

Humanomics establishes and maintains your private and confidential records in both hard copy and electronic form.

Your records are protected against (i) loss, (ii) unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure, and (iii) misuse.

Protection is ensured through the use of our:

  • Secure filing and archiving facilities, and
  • Password and firewall secured computer systems.

For how long will personal information be stored?

Your records will be securely stored and retained for a minimum period of seven years.

If, during that time, your records need to be handed over or transferred to another person, organisation or agency, we will ensure that:

  • You have been made aware of the reasons for the handover or transfer, Unauthorised use or disclosure of your records is prevented,
  • Your records are up to date, accurate, complete and not misleading.

How do we use and disclose personal information?

Humanomics will only use personal information to deliver services that meet your needs and interests.

This may involve disclosing information (either verbally or in printed/written form) to persons, organisations or agencies that have a legitimate and lawful need to know.

Those with a legitimate and lawful need to know may include:

  • Your employer
  • Medical and health practitioners,
  • Our contracted advisors and service providers,
  • Legal practitioners, and
  • Government departments and agencies.

We will only disclose personal information when:

  • You have been made aware and have given us consent to do so,
  • Disclosure is required or authorised by or under law, and
  • Disclosure is necessary to prevent or lessen a serious and/or imminent threat to your life or health (or the life and health of another person).

Before using and disclosing personal information, we will ensure that it is:

  • Up to date,
  • Accurate,
  • Complete, and
  • Not misleading.

We will consult with you to make appropriate corrections, deletions and additions to your records.

Withdrawing your consent to collect and disclose personal information

You may withdraw your consent to collect and disclose your personal information at any time.

Doing so, however, will impair our ability to provide you with safe and effective services.

If you are considering withdrawing consent, we will discuss your concerns and reasons with you. This will ensure that you clearly understand your rights and the effects of withdrawing consent.

If, thereafter, you choose to withdraw consent, we may need to modify, suspend or cease our services.
